Web Development is building real, working websites and web applications. It combines design, code and logic so pages don't just look good — they do things: forms submit, data loads, users log in, and content updates live in the browser. What you'll learn: You'll start with the three building blocks of the web — HTML for structure, CSS for styling, and JavaScript for behaviour — and build responsive layouts that adapt to any screen. You'll add interactivity: handling clicks and input, showing and hiding content, form validation, and updating the page without reloading. You'll fetch and display live data from APIs, connect a site to a backend and database, and manage state as an app grows. You'll use modern workflows — a code editor, browser dev tools, package tools and Git — and finish by deploying a project so it's actually live on the internet. Depending on the path you'll also meet a framework such as React. Tools & technologies: HTML, CSS and JavaScript; a framework like React; Git and GitHub; browser dev tools; and hosting/deployment platforms such as Netlify or Vercel. Real-life scenarios: • Build and launch a real business website with a working contact form and booking system. • Create a dashboard that pulls live data from an API and shows it in tables and charts. • Build a to-do, notes or inventory app where users add, edit, save and delete their own data. • Take a designer's mockup and turn it into a fast, mobile-friendly live site. • Add search, filtering and a cart to an online store so customers can shop smoothly. • Publish a personal project online and share the link in a job application. Career paths: Frontend developer, web developer, full-stack developer (with backend), or founder building your own product. Who it's for: Aspiring frontend or full-stack developers, entrepreneurs who want to build their own product, and designers ready to make their designs real.
